TT frames are designed to sit on top of the finished floor to protect it and keep out water. A total opening of ½ inch more is required. This is the preferred type of frame for an existing floor.
VV frames are designed to be set into concrete, level with the finished floor. A total opening of 2 inches more is required to pour the concrete.
AD frames are designed to be set into concrete or screwed down every 6 inches to be level with the finished floor. A total opening of ½ inch more is required to pour the concrete. This type of frame is ideal for an existing floor or a wall-to-wall space.
